IC Lights Flos

IC Lights is Michael Anastassiades's collection for Flos, launched in 2014; in 2024 Flos marked its tenth anniversary with special editions. An opal blown-glass sphere appears to balance on a slender metal structure, in brass or chrome: the source of its recognisable look. The collection covers the whole home, with table, floor, wall and ceiling, suspension and outdoor versions.

The IC Lights family

The same principle comes in several formats. On a surface, the IC Lights T1 Low and the IC Lights T1 High change height for a bedside table or desk, while the IC Lights T2 raises the sphere on a longer stem. For the floor, the IC Lights F brings the same image beside an armchair. The IC Lights S is the pendant for the table, and the IC Lights C/W is the wall and ceiling version. There are also IC Lights Outdoor versions for outside.

How to choose

The light is soft and diffused, suited to atmosphere rather than task: the opal sphere spreads an even luminance without glare. For a bedside table choose the IC Lights T1 Low; for a desk or beside a seat the IC Lights T1 High or the T2; for the dining table the IC Lights S pendant; for a reading corner the IC Lights F floor lamp. A brushed-brass structure gives a warm tone, chrome a cooler, more reflective effect.
