Desk lamps

A desk lamp is there to light the work surface well without tiring the eyes: direct light where you need it, an adjustable arm, controllable brightness. At AGOF Store you'll find original designer desk lamps, from task-lighting icons to the latest LED models, all with the manufacturer's official guarantee and a certificate of authenticity.

How to choose a desk lamp

The main criterion is the quality of light on the surface. You want a beam that covers the work area without harsh shadows or screen glare: this is where the adjustable arm matters and, on LED models, the ability to set brightness and colour temperature. A neutral light around 4000K keeps concentration up during the day; if you work in the evening, being able to shift to a warmer tone reduces eye strain. Check the base footprint too, or the clamp fixing, useful when desk space is tight.

The icons of task lighting

The work lamp is one of the richest territories in Italian design. Artemide's Tolomeo, designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina in 1987, made the spring-balanced arm an archetype. Alongside it sit more compact contemporary LED models made for computer work. These are lamps built to last and to be used every day, not mere accessories.

Cordless desk lamps

If you need a desk lamp you can move around or one with no cable on the surface, some rechargeable models work well as task lighting too. You'll find the options among the cordless rechargeable lamps.
