Mantra Wall or ceiling lamps
Wall and ceiling lights set the base layer of light in a room. Mantra covers both with a single design language: LED ceiling lights with diffused output for hallways, bedrooms and bathrooms, and wall lights that can work as accent lighting, as a symmetrical pair either side of a mirror, or as step markers along a staircase.
Sizing a ceiling light
A working rule: add the two room dimensions in metres and read the result as a diameter in centimetres. A 3x4 m bedroom therefore calls for a fitting around 70 cm across. For output, budget 100-150 lumens per square metre in a bedroom and 200-300 in a kitchen or bathroom.
Wall lights: mind the beam
Mantra wall lights fall into three behaviours:
- Up-and-down — two blades of light on the wall, ideal in corridors
- Diffused — shielded output that won't glare, suited to bedsides
- Adjustable — for aiming at a picture or a specific reading spot
Bathrooms and IP rating
In a bathroom the ingress protection rating is not optional. In Zone 2, meaning around the basin and above the mirror, you need IP44 as a minimum. Check the technical sheet before ordering: many decorative wall lights are IP20 and cannot be installed there.
